Taylor Fork Montana Sunrise
Sunrise colors reflect in the Taylor Fork Creek near West Yellowstone, Montana. Golden sunrises like this one are fairly typical of Montana in late summer. Photography Tip: Use reflective surfaces, like the river, to add more color to your sunrise and sunset images. We are often blessed with fantastic colors in the sky at dawn but at this time of day our foregrounds are often dark and drab. Whenever possible, I try to compose my sunrise shots around something reflective so that I get strong on both sides of the frame. If you are interested in improving your landscape photography technique I am leading an Autumn in Yellowstone National Park Photography Workshop this September with park expert Dr. Jim Halfpenny. This will be a small group field photography experience with lots of hands-on instruction. Space is limited.
