Defining Christian Social Justice Blog

By Marci Nielsen

Social justice is at the center of the message delivered by Jesus Christ in his gospel. A Christian social justice blog must be regarded as one that analyses a changing society in light of this message. It maintains the perspective that would have been approved by Christ had he been present as such occurrences unfold. The main idea is to maintain the fundamentals of Christianity in all posts.

A blogger who wishes to be regarded in light of Christ must be faithful to the ideals of Christianity in his interpretation. The message should not be twisted to achieve a particular end. This allows Christians visiting the site to understand the world around them the way Christ would have desired. This gives relevance to the gospel today despite a changing society.

Issues addressed on blogs can also be used to mark their identity. The aim is to provide a Christ centered solution to pertinent issues like health, environmental degradation, conservation, education, war, etc. Resource distribution and the arising conflicts also capture the attention of bloggers. Christians contribute to such debates with the aim of sharing experiences and exchanging ideas to ensure that a just solution is found.

Advances in societies have led to inventions and technology that can be useful or misused. Experts in technology highlight beneficial inventions and their application in changing the lives of populations. Blogs focus on innovations and technology that can transform the lives of individuals as well as be misused to their disadvantage.

Some blogs are identified by the people and organizations determining their content. Religious groups and leaders are taking to the internet to attract the attention of a young population that remains internet savvy. The issues raised on such platforms are close to the minds of the young people. Professionals use such platforms to assist the young generation in identifying with the Christian perspective.

Politics remains central to every social advocacy initiative. The influence of politics on the daily lives of individuals and populations means that it cannot escape the attention of bloggers. Bloggers use the platform to keep politicians, their policies and regimes in check. The aim is to ensure that policies implemented are sensitive to the needs of masses.

Changes in the societies are exerting pressure on Christianity to change its stand on certain issues. Such an issues is the definition of marriage where there is a push to include gays and homosexuals in the definition. Churches and religious groups have even been split by the matter. Blogs are an excellent platform to advocate for your point of view and capture the imagination of dynamic and youthful faithful. Passing the message on blogs is easy and fast, making it preferable.

Blogs have been used to highlight the work being carried out by individuals, leaders and groups in churches. This includes missions to different parts of the world, especially in areas that have been affected by disasters. The blogs showcase the work and attempts by Christians around the world to push for justice for the down trodden. The person or institution managing the blog will lend credibility to it.
